Jukung Bali's Traditional Fisherman Boat
This is the soul of Bali's fishing heritage! The traditional Jukung — a narrow, colorful outrigger canoe — glides silently over the calm waters of Amed's black sand coastline.
With its vibrant sails and hand-carved wooden hull, this timeless boat still carries local fishermen at dawn, just as it has for generations.
In Amed, you'll see Jukung bobbing against the backdrop of Mount Agung, creating one of Bali's most authentic coastal scenes. Whether you're watching the sunrise or snorkeling the nearby Japanese shipwreck, the Jukung is a beautiful, living symbol of Bali's connection to the sea.

This is the raw, roaring power of Bali's most accessible waterfall! Tegenungan Waterfall, tucked in the lush jungle valleys of Gianyar, is a stunning cascade of white water crashing into a green basin below.
The towering waterfall plunges around 15 meters high, creating a misty spray that cools you down before you even reach the viewing platforms. Unlike north Bali's remote falls, Tegenungan is famous for being easily reached and incredibly impressive year-round, even during the dry season — thanks to its large upstream watershed.
Dedicated as a natural landmark and holy site for local ceremonies, this spot combines jungle adventure with Balinese spirituality.
💸 Ticket Information (as of late 2024/early 2025):
· Foreign Adult: IDR 20,000
· Foreign Child: IDR 10,000
· Note: Prices are subject to change. Parking fee (motorcycles ~IDR 5,000, cars ~IDR 10,000) is separate.
🚗 How to Get There:
The waterfall is located in Sukawati, Gianyar — just south of Ubud.
From Ubud (closest tourist hub):
· Scooter or car (most common): About 25–35 minutes (around 12 km). Easy, straightforward roads.
From Sanur:
· Scooter or car: About 40–50 minutes (around 18 km).
From Canggu:
· Scooter or car: About 1 to 1.5 hours (around 35–40 km).
Tip: Wear water shoes (the rocks are slippery!), bring a change of clothes, and expect stairs — around 150+ steps down, which means 150+ back up! Go early morning (8–10 AM) to avoid crowds. Combines well with a visit to Tegenungan's Instagram-worthy giant rubber ring or a coffee tasting at a local luwak coffee plantation nearby.

This is the dramatic coastal gem of East Bali! Atuh Beach.
Atuh Beach, tucked away on the rugged shores of Nusa Penida, is a breathtaking vision of tropical paradise.
The famous white sand beach is framed by towering limestone cliffs and two massive arching rock formations rising from the ocean, creating a stunning natural frame that feels almost otherworldly.
A peaceful escape from the crowds, this hidden cove offers crystal-clear turquoise water and a true sense of adventure.
💸 Ticket Information (as of late 2024/early 2025):
· Foreign Adult: IDR 15,000 (parking & retribution fee)
· Note: Prices are subject to change. Some warungs ask for a small donation if you use their facilities.
🚗 How to Get There:
The beach is located on the southeast coast of Nusa Penida Island.
From Toyapakeh Harbor (main entry point):
· Scooter or car (most common): About 45 minutes to 1 hour (around 20-25 km). The road is partly paved but has rough, potholed sections — drive carefully.
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes for the steps down to the beach, bring sunscreen and plenty of water, and time your visit for low tide to explore the rock arches more easily. Combines well with Diamond Beach and Thousand Islands viewpoint.

Explore Lemukih Waterfall (Fiji Waterfall): North Bali Adventute
Often referred to as Fiji Waterfall or found in the same valley as Sekumpul, the cascades in Lemukih village offer a slightly different, more secluded vibe! It's a breathtaking spot featuring a cluster of multiple falls side-by-side, creating a wide, stunning curtain of water.
The trek through lush rice fields and jungle trails is an adventure in itself, often including a chance to experience the famous Lemukih Natural Water Slide! For the true adventurer, this area is a must-see in North Bali.
💸 Tickets & Guide:
* Entrance Fee (Basic): IDR 20,000 – 50,000
* Guide Fee: To fully explore the valley and reach the base of the falls (including Fiji/Lemukih and often Sekumpul), you'll typically need to purchase a trekking package with a local guide. Prices for these packages vary but start around IDR 150,000 – 200,000 per person.
🚗 Getting There:
Lemukih is located in North Bali, close to Sekumpul, making it a longer but scenic drive.
* From Ubud: * Car/Scooter: Approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours (around 50-65 km).
* From Canggu: * Car/Scooter: Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours (around 75-80 km).
