WHERE TO FIND US: FROM THE SPICE ISLANDS TO ISLAND OF GODS

Sekumpul Waterfall

This is the ultimate waterfall wonder of North Bali! Sekumpul, hidden deep in the lush jungles of Buleleng Regency, is widely regarded as Bali's most magnificent waterfall — a curtain of cascading water that drops over 80 meters into a misty green canyon.

The famous twin (actually up to seven!) waterfalls plunge side by side through dense tropical foliage, creating a thunderous roar and a cool, refreshing spray that envelops you long before you reach the viewpoint. Unlike easily accessible falls, Sekumpul requires a proper jungle trek, rewarding adventurers with an untouched, soul-stirring spectacle. Dedicated to nature at its rawest, this hidden gem is a truly special, off-the-beaten-path escape from Bali's crowded southern hotspots.

💸 Ticket Information (as of late 2024/early 2025):

· Foreign Adult: IDR 20,000 – 30,000 (official entrance)
· Guide Fee (highly recommended): IDR 100,000 – 150,000 per group
· Parking: IDR 5,000 (scooter) / IDR 10,000 (car)
· Note: Prices are subject to change. Some locals offer "mandatory guides" — ask ahead.

🚗 How to Get There:

The waterfall is located in the Sekumpul village, Buleleng Regency, North Bali.

From Ubud:

· Car/Scooter: About 2 to 2.5 hours (around 70-80 km). The drive is scenic but winding.

From Canggu:

· Car/Scooter: About 2.5 to 3 hours (around 85-95 km).

From Lovina (closer alternative):

· Car/Scooter: About 45 minutes to 1 hour (around 25 km).

Tip: Prepare for a serious trek — around 500+ steep steps down (and back up!), plus slippery river crossings. Wear sturdy water shoes, bring a waterproof bag for electronics, and hire a local guide for safety and the best photo spots. Go early morning (6–7 AM) to beat the crowds and catch magical morning light. Combines well with a visit to the nearby Fiji Waterfall, Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, or a coffee plantation tour.

GWK Cultural Park: Discover Bali’s Most Iconic Landmark and Statue.

This is the soaring heart of Bali’s spiritual skyline! The Garuda Wisnu Kencana—a colossal masterpiece of copper and brass—stands as a breathtaking sentinel over the Bukit Peninsula.

Depicting the Hindu god Vishnu riding the mythical eagle Garuda, this iconic monument is one of the tallest cultural statues in the world, symbolizing divine balance and environmental protection.

Set within a sprawling cultural park carved out of massive limestone pillars, GWK offers more than just a monumental view. Here, the ancient art of the Kecak dance meets modern architectural ambition, creating a space where Bali’s deep-rooted mythology feels larger than life.

Whether you are wandering through the dramatic Lotus Pond or watching the sun set behind the statue’s golden crown, GWK is a powerful, living tribute to the island's artistic soul and devotion.

Balinese Kebaya: The Elegant Soul of Traditional Women's Attire in Bali.

This is the timeless elegance of Balinese womanhood! The kebaya — a delicate, form-fitting blouse often made of sheer fabric, lace, or brocade — is worn with grace by Balinese women during sacred ceremonies, temple offerings, and traditional dance performances.

Paired beautifully with a colorful sarong and a gold or floral kemben (inner sash), this intricate garment hugs the body with modesty and poise.

Passed down through generations, the kebaya represents devotion, respect, and quiet strength. Whether at a wedding, a Galungan celebration, or a royal cremation, seeing women in their kebaya is like watching living art — every fold and pin tells a story of heritage, faith, and feminine beauty in Bali's spiritual island life.

CANGGU BALI

This is the vibrant coastal heart of Bali's modern surf culture!

Canggu, stretched along the southwest coast between echoing rice paddies and pounding black-sand beaches, is a laid-back yet electric blend of bohemian charm, world-class waves, and endless café hopping.

The famous beach breaks at Batu Bolong, Echo Beach, and Berawa draw surfers of all levels, while the shoreline itself is dotted with iconic black volcanic sand, crashing Indian Ocean swells, and spectacular golden-hour sunsets.

Unlike the hectic pace of Kuta or the serenity of Ubud, Canggu offers a balanced escape — where you can spend mornings chasing waves, afternoons lounging in beachfront beach clubs like La Brisa or The Lawn, and evenings feasting at trendy warungs or rooftop bars.

This is the soul of Bali's spiritual heritage!

Balinese Hinduism — known as Agama Hindu Dharma — is a unique, deeply colorful blend of ancient Indian Hinduism, Buddhism, and centuries of indigenous animist traditions.

Unlike the mainland version, it revolves around daily offerings (canang sari), elaborate temple ceremonies, and the belief that gods and demons dwell in both nature and the human heart.

In every village, you'll see small shrines outside homes, the scent of incense at dawn, and processions of women carrying towering fruit offerings on their heads.

Whether you're watching a purification ritual at Tirta Empul or witnessing a cremation ceremony, Balinese Hinduism is a living, breathing art form — gentle, poetic, and woven into every aspect of island life.
